In the Summer 2013 Richard purchased his first Racehorse, Outbid, it was meant to be the first of many but Richard never envisaged he would have multiple horses.
Soon after Outbid won his first race at Wolverhampton on ‘Cheltenham Thursday’ an opportunity would follow in the shape of Belle Bayardo… It was supposed to be a quick in and out job, but like Outbid before him Richard became attached to the talented but quirky gelding and he went on to win 3 races.
Soon after Belle Bayardo, Richard decided to move into syndication with the Blue Grey Chevron brand named after our colours (shortened to BGC Racing in 2017), since then we have grown to over 100 owners and we have been in the winners enclosure on multiple occasions.
In 2016 the decision was made to focus the syndicate on football themed named horses starting with Huddersfilly Town and Shelneverwalkalone, who run in colours with different sleeves to represent the football club. The plan is to have a horse for every club that is a size to warrant one… and we plan to follow it with Rugby, Cricket and even Golf club horses in the not too distant future. Outside the football horses we will always look to retain horses who can be competitive but if they show no indication of being able to win a race we will look to move them quickly to another stable, or a happy home outside of racing.
In 2017 we sponsored Royal Windsor Racecourse’s main grandstand and we have a forever expanding team, all with the same goal of being successful on the racetrack.
We have many aspirations and ambitions but the most important one is to be viewed as the UKs biggest and friendliest Racing Syndication out there. If you feel like you want to join us on this journey they please don’t hesitate in contacting us to discuss membership and ownership options.
